I got in the check cards for HolosTek on Tuesday. They were fine. I got the actual checks today. They were not fine. The address was totally wrong (granted, it was the address on the paperwork we had to give them, but still inaccurate and they were told that) and it looked like crap. Below is a summary of what was on them, with some small modifications for privacy reasons.

What kind of person writes a phone number like that? It needs to have some sort of formatting in it. I mentioned something about it being centered too, but don't know if anything will be done about that.

But, they took those back and are having them corrected. Now I just have to wait another two weeks.

A little under a year ago, my boss and I incorporated a company to legitimize all of the side work we were doing for people. Unfortunately, thinks never went any further than filing the Articles of Incorporation.

About a week ago, my boss decided he was getting to the point where he was too busy to worry about it anyway and wanted out. As luck would have it, I was going to talk to him that same day about bringing in another person and getting things off the ground.

Instead, Duck and I are now the owners of HolosTek, Inc.. We've gotten most, if not all, of the necessary paperwork finished, and sometime next week, all of the sites will be moving to a new server. All except two, which will be receiving their own server. Shortly after that, the site redesign will be finished and we'll be up and running completely.

So I got the ircd server up and running as well as the IRC services using bahamut 1.8.3 and ircservices 5.0.53.  Then I decided neither of them had the features I wanted and switched it to UnrealIRCd 3.2 and anope 1.7.10.  One of the big things I wanted was the hostmasking features of Unreal.  I also liked the services from anope better.

On that note, I've also go a PJIRC module for PHP-Nuke installed on three of my sites, as well as set up the channels and eggdrop bots for them.  I found a nice little tcl script for eggdrop that let me write a list of current users every minute, so that I could read from it in PHP-Nuke.  It works pretty well.  You can see this at work on OklahomaFitness.net and OKCbyNight.com.

I was helping someone set up a "chat room" for a website yesterday.  They'd found a module for PHP-Nuke that adds a popup java irc client (pjirc).  I had to modify it a bit to make it connect to a different server.  The version of pjirc it used by default was hardcoded to only use one server.

Originally, I was thinking about having them use DALnet, but after some thought, it made more sense to me to set up a HolosTek IRC server.  That way I could use it for other projects as well, such as OKC by Night, Mark II.  It's set up using bahamut, the ircd that DALnet uses, and ircservices, for NickServ, ChanServ, etc.  I'm still working on tweaking it to work the way I like it.  It's up and running now, though, with two official channels.  For more information, you can visit http://holosnet.holostek.com.  The site is not up yet, as of this writing, but it should be withing a few hours.
