Stargate Atlantis :: Season 2, Episode 5 :: Condemned

Shepherd and company have found a planet with technology that rivals
their own. However, this planet places it's criminals in a penal
colony near the gate for the Wraith to feed on so that they ignore the
main cities. Apparently this has worked for hundreds of years.
This looked like a morality episode from the beginning. Should they trade with a civilization that gives their criminals to the Wraith? That was Dr. Weir's question.
The crash landing on the way back wasn't hard to call. And "Oh, no," The Magistrate on this planet has been making deals with the Wraith.
Nothing has been all that surprising about the episode, but it's been an interesting episode anyway. It doesn't look like they're going to be good trading partners after all.
The Atlantians set the prisoners free so that the Wraith would feed on the citizens of the Planet instead. It only seemed fair for their unfair imprisonment of so many. The last image of the show was a great shot of the Magistrate making the "Oh, Shit!" face.
